Acadia Hospital Welcomes Ira Scott, MD

Dr. Ira Scott is now a full-time physician at Acadia Hospital.

He was raised in the metropolitan Washington, DC area but has lived in New York City since beginning medical school in 1994. He currently resides in Bangor.

Dr. Scott did his pre-med studies at Yale University where he earned his BA in the biology/psychology track, and earned his MD from Columbia University in New York in 1998. He completed his psychiatric residency at New York University Medical Center, Bellevue, in 2002.

Dr. Scott gained clinical experience through his work as an attending psychiatrist at Manhattan Psychiatric Center and most recently as the psychiatrist for an Assertive Community Treatment team in Brooklyn, New York. He also spent time working with an outpatient crisis intervention team at Julkulan Sairaala Hospital in Kuopio, Finland.

He enjoys photography and exploring Maine on his motorcycle.




Acadia Hospital Welcomes Jennifer Parks, PMHNP-BC


Ms. Parks is a family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner on the clinical services staff at Acadia Hospital. She will be working with our Pediatric Services.

Ms. Parks was born in Memphis, Tennessee and currently resides in Orono, Maine. She earned her BS at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana in May of 2001, then her MS from the University of Texas at Austin in August of 2002. In August of 2014, she earned her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee.

She received her Board Certification with The ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in September of 2014.





Acadia Hospital Welcomes Warren Black, PMHNP-BC

Mr. Black is a family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner on the clinical services staff at Acadia Hospital. He will be working with our Adult Inpatient Services.

Mr. Black was born in Jackson, Mississippi and currently resides in Orono, Maine. He earned his BA from The University of Mississippi  in August of 2002. Mr. Black then worked as a professional musician from September 2002 to late 2009.

From 2010-2012 he worked as a clinical associate with adults struggling with substance use disorders at Cumberland Heights Foundation just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. In August of 2012 Mr. Black enrolled at the Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee where he gained his Masters of Science in Nursing in August of 2014.

He received his Board Certification with The ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in September of 2014.
