Acadia Hospital Battle of the Bands Raises More Than $40,000 for Youth Services
Bangor, ME – Acadia Hospital, via the Acadia Hospital Foundation, raised $41,290 in cash and gifts-in-kind at its Battle of the Bands dance held at the Cross Insurance Center Friday, September 13. Approximately 500 people attended the fundraiser, which featured the Time Pilots, RetroRockerz and The Stone Doctors all competing for votes from the crowd. The total amount raised made Battle of the Bands one of the most successful fundraising events in Acadia’s 21 years.
Acadia President and CEO Dan Coffey observed, “Everyone involved with this event is thrilled with the results. I’ve heard from people who attended that it was a great evening; people literally danced the night away thanks to our three tremendous bands.”
News Center’s Kevin Mannix was the emcee, and those in attendance could bid on silent auction items and also vote for their favorite band by making a donation.
The event’s Lead Sponsors were: Bangor Daily News, Blueberry Broadcasting, and WLBZ 2. Band Sponsors were: Bangor Savings Bank, Fisher Engineering, and Russell Investments.
