Acadia Hospital Battle of the Bands Experiences Successful Third Year
Bangor, ME – On Friday, September 19, 460 people danced the night away while supporting Acadia Hospital child and adolescent services. The third annual Acadia Hospital Foundation Battle of the Bands returned to the Cross Insurance Center for another evening of fun and friendly competition.
Encouraged by the evening’s Emcee, WLBZ 2’s Kevin Mannix, the three bands kept the energy high and performed like champs. Returning bands The Stone Doctors and Time Pilots did not disappoint, and newcomer this year, Maine Street R&B Revue, proved they were a worthy addition to the event. When the dust cleared, The Stone Doctors had amassed the most votes, but the big winner was Acadia’s youth services, as the event raised nearly $40,000 in cash and in-kind donations.
Acadia Hospital President and CEO Dan Coffey was very pleased with the event, stating, “It was wonderful to see so many people come out this evening and have a great time. I think it demonstrates the community’s growing support of our mission, and also is a reflection on the quality of the event itself. I am also grateful for our sponsors, it means a lot to our employees and board to have area businesses stand behind the work we do to empower people to improve their lives.”
