Acadia Hospital Announces New Board Chair
Bangor, Me—Jim Breece has transitioned from vice chair to chair of Acadia Hospital’s Board of Trustees, replacing Michael Shea, who served as chair for the past two years.
Breece, a long-time employee of the University of Maine System, is currently an associate professor of economics at the flagship campus in Orono. Prior experience included serving as vice chancellor for academic affairs for the University of Maine System.
Acadia President and CEO Dan Coffey observed, “Jim has served on the Acadia board 11 years and is well-versed on the complexities of large organizations, given his leadership role with the University of Maine System. In addition, he is very supportive of Acadia Hospital’s mission and the importance of strong governance as we empower people to improve their lives. I look forward to working with him as we pursue our strategic vision.”
As Breece moves into the role of chair, Board of Trustees member Anne Pooler has been chosen to serve as vice chair.
Acadia Hospital is a fully accredited and licensed non-profit psychiatric hospital whose mission it is to empower people to improve their lives.
