Acadia Hospital Battle of the Bands Rocks, Generates over $35,000 for Acadia Youth Services
Bangor, ME – On Friday, September 18, over 400 people danced the night away while supporting Acadia Hospital child and adolescent services. The fourth annual Acadia Hospital Foundation Battle of the Bands returned to the Cross Insurance Center for another evening of fun and friendly competition.
Setting the tone for the evening was Emcee Kaitlyn Chana from WLBZ 2, providing high energy and encouragement to the bands and those who were voting. The three bands were led by the battle-hardened event veterans, The Stone Doctors. Joining them were worthy newcomers Motor Booty Affair and Juice Box. The big winner of the night was Acadia’s youth services, as the event raised nearly $38,500 in cash and in-kind donations.
Acadia Hospital President and CEO Dan Coffey commented on the event, now in its fourth year, “As our major fundraising event of the year, Battle of the Bands has continued to not only produce a wonderful evening of fun and dancing, it has encouraged hundreds of community-minded people to come out in support of Acadia and its mission of empowering people to improve their lives. I speak for our patients, employees and board of trustees when I say thank you to all who made it such a success.”
