"What we actually learn, from any given set of circumstances, determines whether we become increasingly powerless or more powerful." - Blaine Lee
I love the above quote. It reminds me that in all we do or experience, it is what we learn that determines its value. This week we have had two major surveys: Magnet and The Joint Commission.
As each finish up their surveys today, it is a good time to review what it is we have learned. For me, I have learned several things:
First, I have learned more about the great leadership team here at Acadia. Everyone participated in these events (even if you didn't directly talk to a surveyor). The quality of the work you do was observed and commented on by the surveyors. Special thanks to Annette, Eileen, Bill, Paul, April, David, Marilyn, Nancy, and Mike for their dedication and stewardship.
Second, (and this I already knew) Acadia is a great facility. As one of the Joint Commission Surveyors mentioned in the exit survey, "Acadia is a truly premier facility"!
Lastly (for now), this survey gave me an opportunity to hear care providers talk about Acadia, with pride, joy, and passion. Those are the characteristics of a truly distinguished and talented organization.
I hope you are all impressed with the organization you have created here… I know I am.
Thank you for your service here at Acadia. |
