The Acadia Hospital Keep the Promise capital campaign has already raised over $1 million and is scheduled to reach the $1.5 million goal by October, 2008. The campaign is the hospital's first major fundraising effort, and major areas of focus include creating a Pediatric and Family Center and renovating the Acadia Recovery Community.
The Pediatric and Family Center will house all youth outpatient programs, as well as the on-campus school. Consolidating all youth services in one area of the hospital will provide greater privacy and safety for our youngest patients and their family members. It will also free up space in other areas of the hospital for increased adult outpatient services, which are in high demand.
The Acadia Recovery Community, a homeless shelter and substance abuse treatment facility, is in dire need of upgrades to the original building in order to continue to supply shelter and treatment for the Bangor area's homeless population.
The campaign is looking for support from the community, so please take a moment to review the case statement. If you want to make a donation you will also find the donation/pledge form for your use.
Thank you for your consideration. If you have any additional questions please send an email to acomeau@emh.org or call 973-6166.
