Affiliated Healthcare Systems (AHS) has made a lead gift of $250,000 to The Acadia Hospital Keep the Promise capital campaign. This donation is the largest single gift to the campaign to date and has helped Acadia raise over $850,000. The campaign's baseline goal is $1 million, with a second phase planned to raise an additional $500,000. The money will help Acadia renovate its inpatient children's unit, upgrade its homeless shelter, the Acadia Recovery Community, and provide additional space for Acadia outpatient substance abuse programs.
At the time that the pledged gift was announced, AHS President Ken Hews (now retired) commented, "We believe strongly in the mission of Acadia Hospital, the value of your medical contribution to our community, the high quality of the staff supporting patient care, and the consistent vision you all bring to caring for our most vulnerable citizens. On behalf of the board, our AHS team, and in recognition of your hard work – we are pleased to make the first lead gift to the Keep the Promise Campaign." |
